Welcome to What’s the “Trich?”
What’s the Trich? is a personal journey, sharing insights on navigating mental health, anxiety, and the realities of raising a child with OCD and trichotillomania.
When I first heard these diagnoses, I felt overwhelmed and lost. I had so many questions, yet I struggled to find real, relatable stories from parents who had been in my shoes. I wanted to hear from someone who truly understood—not just clinical explanations, but the day-to-day realities of living with these conditions as a family.
That’s why I created this blog—to provide a space that is honest, supportive, and free of judgment.
What is the trick to conquering mental health, OCD and trichotillomania?
Why This Blog Exists
Parenting a child with OCD and trichotillomania comes with unique challenges—ones that many people don’t fully understand. When my family began this journey, I searched for resources, support, and real-life experiences from others who had been there.
But I didn’t find many spaces that captured the emotional side of this journey. The guilt, the uncertainty, the small victories—all of the things that come with supporting a child through a disorder that most people don’t fully understand.
That’s why What’s the Trich? was created—to share personal stories, lessons learned, and encouragement for those who feel alone in this experience.
